AI writing platform built for marketing teams — brand voice, templates, and scale.

What is Jasper?

Jasper is an AI writing platform designed specifically for marketing teams. While tools like Claude and ChatGPT are general-purpose assistants, Jasper is purpose-built for content marketing workflows — with features like brand voice training, marketing-specific templates, campaign planning, and team collaboration built into the product from the start.

The central idea is that marketing teams produce large volumes of content across many formats — blog posts, ads, email campaigns, social posts, product descriptions — and they need all of it to sound consistent, on-brand, and targeted to a specific audience. Jasper tries to solve that problem at scale. Rather than each writer prompting an LLM from scratch, Jasper stores your brand guidelines, audience personas, and voice parameters and applies them automatically to every piece of output.

Under the hood, Jasper uses leading AI models (including GPT-4 and Claude) and layers its own marketing-specific fine-tuning and prompt engineering on top. You're not getting better raw AI output than you'd get from Claude directly — but you're getting it faster, within a workflow designed for marketing, and with your brand context already baked in.

Who is it for?

  • In-house marketing teams producing high volumes of content and needing consistency across writers
  • Content managers who need to brief, generate, and review content without managing individual AI prompts
  • E-commerce brands scaling product descriptions, ad copy, and email campaigns
  • Agencies managing content production for multiple clients with different brand voices
  • Growth teams running rapid ad creative testing who need many variations of copy quickly

Key features

  • Brand Voice: upload examples of your best content and Jasper learns your tone, vocabulary, and style — then applies it to everything
  • Campaigns: enter a campaign brief and Jasper generates a coordinated set of assets: blog post, email, social posts, and ad copy
  • 50+ Templates: purpose-built prompts for specific formats — AIDA framework ads, PAS emails, Amazon listings, YouTube scripts, and more
  • Jasper Documents: a full-featured editor that generates, edits, and stores long-form content
  • Surfer SEO integration: optimise for target keywords while you write, with a real-time SEO score
  • Team workspace: shared brand settings, style guides, and content history for the whole team
  • Browser extension: use Jasper in Gmail, LinkedIn, Google Docs, and other web apps

Step-by-step setup

  1. Go to jasper.ai and start a free trial (7 days, no card required on some plans)
  2. During onboarding, set up your Brand Voice: paste 3–5 examples of your best existing copy (emails, ads, blog posts)
  3. Add your company name, what you do, and your target audience in the Company Info section
  4. Create your first document using a template — try the Blog Post or Facebook Ad template
  5. Fill in the brief fields (topic, audience, tone, goal) and click Generate
  6. Review and edit the output in the Jasper editor — use the Commands bar to rewrite sections, change tone, or expand paragraphs
  7. For a full campaign, use the Campaigns feature: enter a campaign goal and audience, and Jasper will generate all the assets in one go
  8. Invite team members from the Settings > Team section — they'll share the same brand voice and settings automatically

Tips for getting the most out of it

  • Invest time in Brand Voice setup. The quality of Jasper's output relative to a vanilla ChatGPT prompt depends almost entirely on how well you've defined your brand. Give it at least 5 diverse examples of your best content — ads, emails, blog intros, and social posts.
  • Use templates as starting points, not final output. Jasper's templates generate a solid first draft in 30 seconds, but you should always edit for specificity. Add a real customer story, a concrete statistic, or a specific product detail — these are the things Jasper can't know.
  • Use Campaigns for launches. When you have a product launch or promotion, the Campaigns feature is genuinely time-saving. One brief generates email, social, and ad copy in a coordinated voice — rather than prompting each format separately.
  • Combine with a human editor. Jasper at its best is a research and drafting accelerator, not a replacement for a skilled writer. Have a human review and personalise all customer-facing content before publishing.
  • Test ad variations at speed. Use the Facebook or Google Ads templates to generate 5–10 headline and body text variations for A/B testing. Jasper makes this fast enough that testing becomes a habit rather than a project.
